The silky soft hair on hide of Hides of Excellence range of genuine natural black Brazilian cowhide rugs have the most luxurious sheen, yet are incredibly hard wearing so they are ideal in areas of high foot traffic such as a home entry, office or retail space. They are also hypoallergenic and easy to keep clean so you can be assured to enjoy the use of it for many years of use.
We take great pride to ensure the tanneries we source our hides are all sustainable animal by-products of the meat industry. Thoughtful consideration is also taken to ensure the hide is transformed under strict environmentally friendly conditions free from any harmful chemicals and dyes so they are perfectly safe for people, pets and gentle on the environment.
Each hide is one-of-a-kind with no two exactly the same in its unique tone, markings, branding and organic shape. These are the hallmarks of sustainable natural beauty that can not be replicated.
This collection of hides are what we call regular in size, meaning they vary between 3 to 4 square metres in size.

To prolong your enjoyment of our products we recommend the following care for preservation:
• Attend to any soiling as soon as possible by spot cleaning with a fresh soft damp wet water cloth. Scrape off any soiling with the back of a knife.
• Avoid excessive rubbing.Where possible, simply shake away any dirt or debris, or if necessary, use a vacuum on a gentle setting and avoid using a rotating head that may tangle the hair.
• Always line dry in the shade.Colour dyes on natural fibres are not 100% colour fast. Hence, we recommend keeping our dyed products out of any direct sunlight as the UV rays may cause discolouration over time.
• Note also colour transfer may occur on light fabrics.
• Do not place our products on direct heat sources such as heated floors. The heat will dry the natural leather hide backing which can cause it to crack and snap away the hair.
