Hides of Excellence sumptuously silky soft genuine New Zealand sheepskin hide is dyed in a neutral bone tone to compliment any setting. These ethically sourced animal pelts, left in an organic shape, translates as a stylish cosy floor rug or furniture throw.
The approximate size of each hide is approx 95cm - 100cm x 75cm, however being a natural product variations do occur.
Sheepskin rugs are an affordable way to give any space in the home an instant makeover, adding both natural warmth and inviting texture to a room.
New Zealand sheepskin has many wonderful qualities. It absorbs moisture to keep you perfectly warm in winter, yet cool in summer. It is hypoallergenic which is ideal for allergy sufferers, while also being flame resistant and easy to care for and keep clean.
Each hide has its own distinct markings and fleece variations. Since the fleece is colour dyed, we recommend keeping the pelt out of direct sunlight to avoid discolouration.

To prolong your enjoyment of our products we recommend the following care for preservation:
• Attend to any soiling as soon as possible by spot cleaning with a fresh soft damp wet water cloth. Scrape off any soiling with the back of a knife.
• Avoid excessive rubbing.Where possible, simply shake away any dirt or debris, or if necessary, use a vacuum on a gentle setting and avoid using a rotating head that may tangle the hair.
• Always line dry in the shade.Colour dyes on natural fibres are not 100% colour fast. Hence, we recommend keeping our dyed products out of any direct sunlight as the UV rays may cause discolouration over time.
• Note also colour transfer may occur on light fabrics.
• Do not place our products on direct heat sources such as heated floors. The heat will dry the natural leather hide backing which can cause it to crack and snap away the hair.
